Seminar on the Politics of Dignity and Equity: Dalits in Nepal

As part of the Inaugural Darnal Award for Social Justice, there will be an International Seminar on the Politics of Dignity and Equity: Dalits in Nepal from 10am-12pm on August 14th at Tribhuvan University.

Key participants include Larry Diamond (Stanford University), Carl Gershman (National Endowment for Democracy), and Sukhadeo Thorat (Indian Council of Social Science Research) as part of the group of scholars and leaders.

Politics of Dignity and Equity: Dalits in Nepal

The Symposium will feature Anjana Bishankhe, member of Secretariat of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist-Centre); Krishna Bhattachan, eminent Nepal sociologist and indigenous activist; Larry Diamond, Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University; Carl Gershman, Founding President of the National Endowment for Democracy, founder of the Journal of Democracy, International Forum for Democratic Studies, and the Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellows Program; and Sukhadeo Thorat, Chairman of the Indian Council of Social Science Research and Professor Emeritus at Jawaharlal Nehru University.
