Honoring Social Justice Leaders Worldwide

Sarita Pariyar Trust Fund

Sarita Pariyar Trust Fund (SPTF) was established in 2013 and is based in New York, USA. Sarita Pariyar is providing resources for the annual Award through SPTF.

Sarita Pariyar received funds for her and her daughter Samana after the case of her husband’s accidental death was settled in Fairfax County, Virginia, USA. Sarita chose to allocate a portion of the fund for the annual Suvash Darnal Award for Social Justice. The Award is a tribute to her husband’s memory and to their shared passion for social justice, especially for the Dalits.

The core assets designated for the Award are invested in a way that would generate sufficient revenues each year for supporting the annual Suvash Darnal Award. The Trustees and a globally reputed financial investment firm in New York City manage the assets of SPTF.

As a student and emerging leader for social justice, Sarita recognizes the need to support people who are working to build a just and equal society.  After careful research and consultations with reputed scholars, experts, and leaders in and outside Nepal, Sarita made the bold and far-sighted decision to invest her time and personal resources in designing and supporting the annual Suvash Darnal Award.
